Bohra Volunteers Clear 150 Kilos of Litter from Bradford Streets on World Clean-Up Day

Over 60 people – men, women and children, young and old – from the Dawoodi Bohra community of Bradford marked World Clean-up Day by volunteering to pick up litter from local streets near to their masjid.

Over 20 sacks of rubbish that had been strewn across several of the roads adjoining Adam Mosque and the masjid site itself was deep cleaned.

Joined by special guest Dr Javed Bashir, Safeguarding Consultant at Strengthening Faith Institutions, the Dawoodi Bohra volunteers cleared up over 150 kilograms of rubbish.

As part of the global Project Rise initiative, Dawoodi Bohras from across the UK and the world regularly volunteer to help protect and enhance the natural environment, as well as raise awareness of the need to live more sustainably.
