We are the Dawoodi Bohra community of Milton Keynes
Since the 1990s, our vibrant community in Milton Keynes has grown from a small group to over 200 members today.
Who We Are
The Dawoodi Bohras of Milton Keynes, also known as Anjuman-e-Imadi, include families from nearby towns such as Northampton, Peterborough, and Cambridge. Together, we strive to contribute to wider society through our businesses, professional services, and community engagement.
Community Service
Food Drives and Charity Work: The Milton Keynes Dawoodi Bohra community regularly organises food drives and participates in local charitable activities to support those in need.
Environmental Efforts: As part of the Dawoodi Bohras’ global Project Rise initiative, we have undertaken tree plantings and local street clean-ups, contributing to the area’s environmental beauty.
Religious Observance
We hold regular congregational prayers and religious gatherings at our community centre.
We are deeply committed to our faith and observe important religious events, including Eid and Ashara Mubaraka, with communal prayers, feasts, and sermons.
Cultural Activities
Educational Workshops: Our community organises regular classes and workshops that provide religious and cultural education for both children and adults.
Cultural Showcases: We host events that showcase Dawoodi Bohra heritage, such as traditional food fairs and art exhibitions.
Our Community’s Journey
Our 35 families gather at the Bletchley Youth Centre in Far Bletchley, which serves as a temporary meeting place while we plan the construction of a masjid complex. We are dedicated to social development, education, and empowering women, upholding values that have been passed down through generations of Dawoodi Bohras.
Our Vision for the Future
We strive to establish a permanent home in Milton Keynes to better serve our community and foster deeper connections with other local groups. By promoting dialogue and mutual respect, we aim to enrich our collective community life.
