On 31st March, members of the Dawoodi Bohra community from Birmingham visited their neighbours at Brookfields Primary School. During the visit, community members donated more than 350 Easter eggs to support local families this Easter holiday.
The members were welcomed by Headteacher Mrs S Lees, who gracefully accepted the eggs on behalf of the pupils and staff commenting how touched she was by the gesture.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many hardships in the past 12 months, community members chose this as a way of saying ‘thank you’ to the teachers and students in the community who have worked tirelessly.
Mrs Lees said she looks forward to visiting the Birmingham masjid along with her students to learn about the Dawoodi Bohra community’s history, culture and traditions.
