How to plant and grow your peas and beans!

Peas

If you don’t have a pot bury the pea in a shallow tray of soil, at least 5cm deep. The pea will sprout after 3-5 weeks. It won’t grow into a mature pea plant but the shoots can be picked off and eaten straight or added to a salad!

Beans

For beans you need to bury them a little deeper in the soil, at least 10cm deep. They will germinate after 3 weeks. These can be transferred from an indoor pot straight into the ground outside. The bean plant can grow up to a metre tall, so plant along the fence or use some bamboo sticks to create a tripod trellis to support it.
