The Dawoodi Bohras of Birmingham hosted a networking event at their community centre in collaboration with Thrive UK on 14 May 2025. The gathering brought together leaders and representatives from across Birmingham who are committed to make an impact through the Warm Welcome scheme.
The Warm Welcome initiative in Birmingham provides free, safe, and welcoming spaces across the city. These venues, operated by local community organisations, offer various services designed to support residents, combat loneliness, provide practical help, and foster social connections.

Following an initial toy donation activity with Thrive Birmingham in December 2024, the Dawoodi Bohras joined the Warm Welcome scheme and received a £2,000 grant to support its participation.
“We were honoured to welcome 160 delegates for a day of meaningful connection and collaboration,” said a member of the community outreach team.

The aim of the event was to bring together community leaders to exchange ideas, address social isolation, and strengthen local support networksThe networking event also provided an opportunity for the Dawoodi Bohra community to present its ongoing local initiatives and share broader global efforts such as Project Rise, highlighting the community’s commitment to inclusive social progress.
